Our Core Workshop  - 'All About Mental Health' Education Workshop

strong happy brain

Introducing 'All About Mental Health' - a comprehensive mental health education workshop designed to empower students with essential knowledge and skills to navigate, understand and take care of their mental well-being.  Covering a wide range of topics including:

  • What is mental health

  • The foundations of mental wellbeing

  • Moods Vs emotions

  • How to take care of your mental health on a day to day basis

  • Emotional regulation & coping skills

  • Anxiety, stress, trauma & dysregulation

  • Suicide & self harm

  • Relationships, identity, communication & setting boundaries

  • Bullying

  • How to support someone who is struggling or in crisis

Our workshops can be adapted to the specific needs of the school to prioritise the topics the individual school feels are most relevant to their students.

This workshop goes beyond theory to practical application. Through interactive sessions, including lived experience stories by our Hope Champions, it can equip students with the tools needed to create a positive future, lead a successful school life, stay well and live a life of hope.

By investing in 'All About Mental Health', schools not only prioritise the mental health of their students but also contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive educational community. By doing this you will support your students' overall wellbeing which has the potential to impact attendance rates, ability to concentrate and confidence in the classroom. This can relieve some pressure on staff who may feel overwhelmed trying to support young people and the increasing rates of mental health struggles seen in this age range. You will also be able to show OFSTED you really do care about the wellbeing of the students at your school.

GRIEF

Introducing our 'Navigating Pupil Bereavement' workshops - In the aftermath of a recent bereavement within any school community, our specialised workshop offers a safe space for students to understand grief and learn safe ways to process and work through this.

We guide students on understanding the process and complexities of grief, developing coping strategies, practicing self-care, utilising and building a strong support network and different healthy ways to express their emotions. Similar to the 'All About Mental Health' workshops this incorporates our Hope Champions' stories discussing their experience of grief and things that may have helped them.

Additionally, for schools grappling with the loss of a student to suicide, we offer an alternative workshop that covers the same topics as above but also addresses the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health, how to recognise warning signs, providing guidance on how to support peers in distress, and emphasising the importance of seeking help.

By investing in this workshop, schools not only prioritise the emotional well-being of their students but also foster a compassionate and supportive environment for healing and growth. Pupil bereavement can be an especially challenging situation for schools to deal with and often schools are unsure how to handle this. Sometimes that leads to schools not talking about it with pupils but this is not necessarily the best approach. We can help you navigate this and show your pupils that you really care about their wellbeing and acknowledge the pain that some of your pupils may be experiencing.

In addition to these workshops we will provide schools with a bereavement policy draft they can use as many schools currently do not have one.

When a young person has lost someone to suicide, this has been proven to increase rates of suicidal ideation and attempted/completed suicide (Swanson & Colman, 2013). By investing in this workshop you are decreasing the chances of suicide of other pupils and providing pupils with the knowledge and tools to take care of their mental health throughout their grieving process. This can potentially improve the attendance rates and behaviour of pupils.
